This was the proverbial $400 boat that no-one wanted. Perhaps this is the only picture I have been able to find- here at the BSLOL Annual Boat Show in Red Wing, Mo.
I went solo on this trip, and took this boat up just for a quick visit just to get her to a boat show.
Powered by a 35 hp Johnson Golden Javelin, this little 16 foot outboard with cable steering was a fun little runabout.
After restoration to this point, Borum ended up on its way to Louisiana and a new home for a quick eBay sale. She was a great starter boat and quite swift in its own way.
As I locate pictures, I will upload some of the restoration process.
Built in Jacksonville Florida, Otis Borum built many fine outboard runabouts for the Florida Market. How this one got to Iowa I will never know.
